ABOUT US - HOW WE GROW
How We Grow Our Mission at DFLC is "Connecting People to Jesus." This is accomplished by "Experiencing Jesus," "Being the People of Jesus," and "Doing the Work of Jesus." The diagram above displays this concept. Disciples grow as they progress through each of these areas. "Experiencing Jesus" focuses on our time with the Lord. It occurs in worship through Word and Sacrament. We also experience Jesus as we spend time reading and praying over his Word in personal devotions. At DFLC, we encourage folks to be active in their Life Journal, a tool to aid people in reading the Bible. "Being the People of Jesus" focuses on relationships. It begins with simply being friendly to other people at church. It progresses to social events, then Bible Studies and Small Groups, and finally to teams. Teams are made up of individuals who are active in their Life Journal. "Doing the Work of Jesus" focuses on service. Service begins with tasks. It progresses to Bible Studies and Small Group service projects, then teams, and finally to disciplizing leadership. Leaders guide their teams in a Life Journal discussion and then service.
