Mission

Through our ProLife Ministry, the Body of Christ comes together to value all human life, from conception to natural death.

  • We speak up for Life and act on behalf of those who are vulnerable and defenseless. Our primary focus is to promote the sanctity of human life by providing education and support based on the Word of God.

“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” John 10:10.

  • We speak for human life by witnessing to our Lord’s creation of Life and His design for marriage and the family, and by advocating for the God-given value of Life.

  • We promote the sanctity of Life by sharing Christ’s love and mercy and caring for people in body and soul by sponsoring pro-life efforts both before and after birth (including adoption placement and foster care), through our congregation and through other Christ-centered life-affirming partnerships.

  • We educate by providing resources and events in support of the Life Ministry.

Speaking life and spreading hope since 1983.

Since 1983, Choices has been serving young women, men, and babies. They are a nonprofit, privately funded community health center in compliance with federal and state laws. They serve the Greater Phoenix area and are staffed by client advocates and medical professionals who are here to listen and provide the facts and information to help individuals make informed decision about their body, sexuality, and future. All consultations are confidential and the majority of our services are free or at a very low cost.

Many of the young women and men Choices serves are at a crossroads in their lives due to an unplanned pregnancy. They face one of the most important decisions about life at a time when they feel theirs is unraveling. They fear rejection, condemnation, and isolation from their family, friends and social circles. Choices does not refer or provide abortion services. They provide a safe place to talk, explore options, seek medical services, learn about available resources and hear about the hope available to all of us for a better life.

We received the following email and picture from Choices Pregnancy Center:

Hello Rev Mark,

My name is Sam Yonan and I just recently took over as the Director for Ministry Partnerships with Choices. I have heard such great things about you and the church from David and the Choices staff. I am so excited to work with you and the church serving this city!

I also just wanted to send you this photo of the ultrasound machine at our new North Phoenix facility. This was only possible because of your contribution and your heart for this ministry. Very soon I will be able to share official numbers with you so you’ll know the impact this machine has had. We can’t thank you enough!

God Bless You,

Sam Yonan

The Foster Alliance logo

When Arizona Helping Hands began 25 years ago, it had a rather broad mission – to help the community in any way possible. Today, this combined renovation and rebranding celebrates our refined focus to support the foster community and our commitment to be the organization this community needs us to be. We want to do everything we can to make sure that foster children thrive on every step of their journey.

Our new brand isn’t just about flowery names, pretty colors and fun fonts; it’s about telling the story of who we really are here at The Foster Alliance. After extensive research we learned a few things about how our supporters, the foster families and even our community partners see us, but we also learned about who we are striving to become in this next era. We are:

  • Compassionate – our goal will always be to provide compassionate services to the foster community, providing quality essentials in a safe and caring environment.

  • Human – The Foster Alliance is a safe space where clients, supporters, volunteers and even the children and youth we serve are welcome to come exactly as they are. Here you are seen. Here you belong.

  • Innovative – We love to listen, learn, and shake things up when it is needed; always pushing to be better – the organization the foster community needs today and in the future.

Finally, you may be wondering, “Why Alliance?” It is clear that the trajectory of children and youth who are on a foster care journey can be bleak. In order to truly help our children change their stars it is going to take every single one of us working together with everything we have. That is the Alliance.

Desert Foothills Lutheran Church is proud to partner with THE FOSTER ALLIANCE.

  • 3 Ways To Talk About Life
It’s easy to talk about your pro-life beliefs with your Christian friends. You’re all coming from the same source — the Bible. But what happens when you chat with friends or teachers who aren’t Christian and don’t see the Bible as anything at all? How can you stand up for life in a pro-choice world?

  • Abortion and the Meaning of Parenthood
If the essence of our humanity consists in our freedom, in taking control, we must think of parenthood correspondingly. But that may mean the loss of the wisdom that to accept full responsibility for what our children are and become is to cut the nourishing root of unconditional parental love.

  • Are The Unborn Human?
How do we contend for life in a pro-choice world? Scott Klusendorf, in his book “The Case for Life,” gives us a great three-step process.

  • Hope for Rachel
Thousands of women suffer from the effects of abortion. what does the Church have to offer them? Satan would love us to believe that the Herod-like destruction of unborn children and the abuse of women through this destruction are political issues and do not belong in the Church. But that is precisely where they do belong! We have the Gospel, the only message that can shatter the darkness and bring hope.

  • Shaped By God
The burgeoning science of assisted reproductive technology, including the freezing and thawing of human embryos, as well as embryonic stem cell research, continues to trivialize the tiniest and weakest amongst us. What should we as Christians consider when we discuss the relationship of parenting to assisted reproductive technology, especially as it results in the freezing and thawing of embryonic human beings and their ultimate death?

  • You Matter
Eugenics is practiced when it is recommended that children with abnormalities and birth defects are aborted. But with God every child is a wanted child, and the church welcomes and holds dear every person.
