Weekly Bible Study

DATE AND TIME: Every Tuesday Evening at 7:00 PM

WHERE: Zoom Classroom

Who is Jesus?  Why did He come to earth?  How can I know Him?  We live in a world where there's a lot of confusion about Jesus.  Too often people want to shape Him and His message o fit their personal needs or agendas.  So how can we know the truth?  Join us as we join Angie Smith unpack scripture in a way that's easy to understand, regardless of how long you've been studying the Bible.  The study will deepen your understanding of Jesus through biblical, historical, and cultural insight and help you see Him less as an iconic figure and more as an intimate friend.

The workbook is available for $15 through the church office.

Monthly Bible Study - ON HOLD DUE TO COVID-19

DATE AND TIME: The 3rd Thursday Evening of the Month at 7:00 pm

WHERE: Various Ladies Homes

Join us as we study Crossing the Waters by Leslie Leyland Fields

Get ready for the wettest, stormiest, wildest trip through the Gospel you've ever taken!
The gospels are dramatic, wild, and wet―set in a rich maritime culture on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Jesus' first disciples were ragtag fishermen, and Jesus' messages and miracles teem with water, fish, fishermen, net-breaking catches, sea crossings, boat-sinking storms, and even a walk on water. Because this world is foreign and distant to us, we've missed much about the disciples' experiences and about following Jesus―until now. Leslie Leyland Fields―a well-known writer, respected biblical exegete, and longtime Alaskan fisherwoman―crosses the waters of time and culture to take us out on the Sea of Galilee, through a rugged season of commercial fishing with her family in Alaska, and through the waters of the New Testament.

You'll be swept up in a fresh experience of the gospels, traveling with the fishermen disciples from Jesus' baptism to the final miraculous catch of fish―and also experiencing Leslie's own efforts to follow Christ out on her own Alaskan sea. In a time when so many are "unfollowing" Jesus and leaving the Church, Crossing the Waters delivers a fresh encounter with Jesus and explores what it means to "come, follow me."

Monday Mom's Group

DATE AND TIME: Monday Mornings at 9:15 am, beginning in the Fall

(stay tuned for specific date)

WHERE: Worship Center (where we can social distance safely)

There's no doubt about it, the past seven months have been wearing on our souls, so come join us as we get refreshed and reconnected. We will be presenting inspiring messages from the Bible and other parents through videos and in person?  Remember, wisdom is formed in groups.

We welcome moms to our Monday Morning Bible Study. Each week a group of Preschool Moms past and present, get together to discuss parenting, marriage, and the wisdom that is shared from being in a group. There is so much joy to be gained when we intentionally show up to be together in faith and friendship. We refresh each other’s faith, pray together over struggles, and sometimes share a recipe or two. If you are a young mom, consider joining us and building a relationship with other moms and most importantly, with our Lord.

Prayer Shawl Group

DATE & TIME: Twice a month  - ON HOLD DUE TO COVID-19

WHERE: In the Sunset Room in the Worship Center

Are you a creative individual who enjoys providing comfort to others?  We welcome you to Prayer Shawl Ministry. This group knits and crochets Prayer Shawls to give or send to those needing comfort and prayers.  As we create our shawls, a positive energy and many prayers are put into them.  As the shawls are used, it is our hope that the recipients feel God's arms enfolding them and feel His love, comfort, and healing.  We meet twice a month to stitch, share patterns, and pray for all our sisters and brothers in Christ.  The rewards to each of us are numerous and heartwarming.  This is a beautiful outreach group at DFLC.
